Yammer vs. SharePoint
Good to know, that if you want to use Yammer as an integrated part to your SharePoint Site, you can’t just add an yammer app any more. All the features were deprecated, you are not able to just download something and all the concept is moving to code solution thing J
So…if you need / or want to add your existing yammer group to some department page in your SharePoint, you need to embed the code/script to page.
Good helper in this scenario is page directly on yammer, who is helping to developers in general way. This page is HERE and is named Yammer: Embed. Quite good configurator, where you log in to your yammer site, you can select Single Sign On method, select Feed ID, Group ID etc. and this tool will generate a piece of code for you.
Anyway you still need to write something, just to introduce code for the SharePoint.
The piece of code, which you will get from the app is something like this:
After you add the beginning and the end, the code should looks like this:
<div id=”embedded-feed” style=”height:400px;width:500px;”></div>
So now you can just open your SharePoint site, click on edit page, then in the ribbon click on embed code and paste this piece of code into it. If you want to stylize it a little bit, you can modify minimally height and width just to fix your SharePoint site layout
AND WOALA =) you have yammer integrated to your SharePoint again…
